Americana Project Celebration and “My Own Two Hands Art Auction”
Location: Sisters, Oregon (Art Auction to take place on April 14th at the Ponderosa Forge & Ironworks)
I donated an original pastel painting “April Afternoon at Cathedral Rock” for the auction to benefit the Americana Project. (see article)
About the Painting: I recall it was cold and windy standing on the side of the road, but the view was worth it! Cathedral Rock is about 2 1/2 hours from Bend, and is close to the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument near Kimberly, Oregon. I painted here twice and then finished the piece from a photo.

Sisters Garden Club Annual Home & Garden Tour
Colorful Garden And Art Studio Of Norma Holmes
Welcome to an artist’s rambling landscape, full of country charm, overflowing with deer resistant perennials and wildflowers. Listen to the tune of water cascading into one of the small ponds as you savor the view of the Three Sisters Mountains. Take note of several varieties of ground cover accentuated with colorful planted pots. Enter the studio of a working artist and enjoy more color.
This will be the 14th year that the Sisters Garden Club has provided a Home and Garden Tour during the Quilter’s Affair week of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Quilts will also be displayed in the featured gardens.
Tickets are $15.00 per person and can be ordered by sending contact information and a check to SGC , Post Office Box 1201, Sisters, Oregon 97759.
